Matala Open-Air Festival 2011A reunion Party of the Ex-Hippies, who were staying in the caves in the sixties and seventies. Matala was the beacon for thousands of young people in the 1960s – and thousands more coming for just the memory of the legendary community. Now one Matala fan, Arn Strohmeyer, author of the book ‘The Myth of Matala’, is organizing a “reunion” – and inviting the world. If you’ve ever been to Matala, or just think you should have been there, now is your chance to meet like-minded people and make new memories of Matala in June, 2011. The reunion takes place in tandem with “Matala Open Air” organized by Municipality of Festos and dedicated to the hippies generation. A 3 day music festival with live music, beach parties, right in front of the famous caves with music from sixties / seventies – the sound & music of the legendary woodstock festival An attractive program with lots of live music and party feeling with all kinds of activities like a Hippie bazar, and Hippie events, acoustic live music, concerts, happenings, exhibitions, children fun parc … and more! This original first from Hi – Hat was created on April 29th 2008 at 01:34 p.m. Music track is “No No Never” performed by the “Texas Lightning”. On March 9, 2006 Texas Lightning won the German heat for the Eurovision Song Contest 2006 and represented Germany in the Finals on May 20th 2006 in Athens, Greece with this song.
“No No Never” was released as a single in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. It reached number 1 on the German “Media Control” charts, number 4 in Austria and number 6 in Switzerland.This song was also for many many years my wake up alarm sound. I think it still is.
Extra point: Through a nomination by Steve Sivek of Baytown, Texas and the submittal by Texas State Senator Tommy Williams, the members of Texas Lightning were, by Proclamation 603 before the Texas Senate, declared to be Honorary Texans. The proclamation was passed by the senate in June 2006.
